This Privacy Policy governs the manner in which the Friends of Apache Junction, hereby known as FOAJ, collects, uses, maintains and discloses information collected from our online visitors to this website. This privacy policy applies to the website and all products and services offered by the FOAJ.

The FOAJ may ask you (the visitor) to provide personal information in a number of ways, including, but not limited to, processing of an online donation, volunteering information, volunteer waivers, project submittals, registration to the site, response to a survey, filling out a form, and in connection with other activities, services, features or resources made available on our website. This list isn’t exhaustive, but meant to give the website visitor an idea of the data collecting on this website. Web visitors may visit the FOAJ website anonymously and we will collect personal identification information from visitors only if they voluntarily submit such information to us. Visitors can always refuse to supply personal identification information, except that it may prevent them from engaging in certain website related activities. If users are uncomfortable filling out information online, please be aware you can contact the FOAJ for offline assistance.

Non-personal identification information

  • To improve customer service:  Information you provide helps us respond to your customer service requests, inquiries and support needs more efficiently.
  • To personalize user experience: The FOAJ may use information to understand how our web visitors as a group use the services and resources provided on our site.
  • To improve our website: The FOAJ may use feedback you provide to improve our services and products.
  • To run surveys or other site features: To send users information they agreed to receive about topics the FOAJ thinks will be of interest to them.
  • To send periodic emails: We may use the email address to send information and updates pertaining to a donation, volunteer status, upcoming projects and volunteer opportunities. If a website visitor fills out a project submittal or volunteer form they will receive emails that may include company news, updates, volunteer opportunities or service information, etc. If at any time the visitor would like to unsubscribe from receiving future emails or correspondence please contact the FOAJ and ask to be taken off the list.

The FOAJ takes precautions to ensure that your personal information is accessible only to authorized individuals, whom are required to comply with our privacy policy. Further, the FOAJ transfers and receives certain types of sensitive information such as online donations and volunteer information via a secure server, which communicates via SSL encryption and has been designed to reduce the possibility of interception and hacking. In so much as the FOAJ employs reasonable technical and managerial measures to help protect the integrity and security of collected personal information you acknowledge that no data transmission over the internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. Therefore, while the FOAJ strives to protect personal information, the FOAJ can’t ensure the security of any information you transmit to or from this site.

Sharing your personal information

The FOAJ will not sell or rent donor or volunteer information to others. We may share non personal demographic information not linked to personal identification regarding website visitors with our business partners, trusted affiliates and advertisers. Upon occasion, the FOAJ might share volunteer information for collaborative purposes.

Website visitors may find advertising or other content on our webpage that link to the sites and services of our partners, suppliers, advertisers, sponsors, licensors and other third parties. The FOAJ doesn’t control the content or links that appear on these sites and is not responsible for the practices employed by websites linked to or from our webpage nor is the FOAJ responsible for these other sites privacy practices. In addition, these sites or services, including their content and links, may be constantly changing and have their own privacy policies and customer service policies. Browsing and interaction on any other website, including websites, which have a link to our webpage, is subject to that website’s own terms and policies.

Ads appearing on the FOAJ website may be delivered to website visitors by advertising partners who may set cookies. Google Adsense

Some of the ads may be served by Google. Google’s use of the DART cookie enables it to serve ads to website visitors based on their visit to our website and other sites on the Internet. Children’s online privacy protection act compliance

Protecting the privacy of children is especially important. Therefore, no part of the FOAJ website is structured to attract anyone under age 13 and we do not intend to collect personal information from children under the age of 13. The FOAJ recommends that parents closely supervise the activity of children on any website including the FOAJ website. For any volunteer project, the FOAJ requests parents not list their children’s name and just use the generic term “minor.” Further, the FOAJ can make available offline volunteer forms for families with minors to further reduce a child’s online fingerprint on the FOAJ website.

The FOAJ retains the option to update this privacy policy at any time. When this occurs, the FOAJ will revise the updated date at the bottom of this page. The FOAJ encourages all website visitors to check frequently for changes to this policy. You acknowledge and agree that it is your responsibility to check and review the privacy policy frequently to make yourself aware of modifications.
