Each December the Apache Junction Police Department holds its annual Toy Drive. This program helps promote togetherness, a sense of community pride and helps exemplify the spirit of giving by helping children and families in need in our community have a merrier Christmas.
This year the Toy Drive brought in nearly $2,000 and a generous sack full of presents from the community to provide underprivileged children presents to open during the holidays. Through the help of the AJ Public Library the Police Department was able to give six presents each to 84 children and help 20 families with assistance.
